Working to identify and fill gaps in pupil knowledge is an integral part of every teacher's work. Timeliness and thoroughness of this work is the key to high learning outcomes. The unsatisfactory quality of this work leads to the accumulation of knowledge gaps among pupils to the point where it becomes almost impossible for the pupil to eliminate them, and he becomes a consistently poor student. In order to prevent such results in KSU "Boarding School No. 24" during the winter holidays, work is being carried out to eliminate gaps in the knowledge of pupils. In each class there are strong, creative guys, with whom it is also necessary to study individually. With them, according to the plan of work with gifted children, various types of activities are carried out. For them, the following types of work are used: selection of material for a dictation on a specified topic, preparation of materials for an essay, preparation of cards for handouts, participation in various competitions (school, regional, republican), olympiads.
