The Semipalatinsk nuclear test site is one of the darkest pages in the history of Kazakhstan.

From the slides of the presentations, the children saw and were horrified what consequences and grief the Kazakh people experienced because of the deadly explosions.

People were silent for almost half a century.

The students learned that at least 468 nuclear tests were carried out at the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site, in which at least 616 nuclear and thermonuclear devices were detonated.

Thanks to the Nevada-Semey International Anti-Nuclear Movement, which, as the guys noted, turned 32 on February 28, the indignant voice of the people was heard and on August 29, 1991, President N. A. Nazarbayev signed an order to close the SNTP.

It was noted that Kazakhstan became the first country to show that it is possible to live without nuclear weapons!

At the school hour, the children also got acquainted with the work of the Karaganda artist Karipbek Kuyukov, who paints his paintings with his feet or holding a brush in his mouth, because due to the sailing effect of radiation he was born without arms.

Our fellow countryman became an honorary ambassador of the International Project "Atom". His painting "Explosion" was donated to the US government during the 4th Nuclear Security Summit in 2016.

During the conversation, the girls and boys said their wishes for peace and a clear sky over the heads of all the children of our beautiful planet, recited poems calling to join the ranks of the Movement Against Nuclear Madness.

We showed each other drawings on the theme: "There is no place for nuclear explosions on Earth!"
