The international anti-corruption day is proclaimed by the UN General Assembly and is celebrated annually on December 9.
On this day in 2003, the ONN Convention against corruption was opened for signature.
The document obliges the signatory States to criminalize bribery, embezzlement of budget funds and laundering of corruption revenues.
